The Salty Strings is a southern trio with deep roots in North Alabama. Made up of lifelong friends and family, the band features Justin Helms on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Rob Henshaw on bass and percussion, and Jason Zinsmeister on mandolin, guitar, banjo, and harmonica. Bonded by a shared love of music, they craft a sound they call beachgrass—a blend of folk, country, Red Dirt, and bluegrass, all infused with laid-back coastal vibes. What started as a casual jam session on the beach turned into something more—a band that brings people together through good music, great stories, and the kind of fun that only happens when friends make music together.
